TAG developed an all composite general aviation winglet to improve cruise, takeoff and stall performance of a popular general aviation aircraft. The winglet shape was derived using the panel method aerodynamic analysis in conjunction with CFD.
TAG achieved the objective of attaching the winglet with little modification to the existing wing structure.
TAG performed company flight testing to ensure that theoretical performance improvements were realized and to ascertain flutter characteristics of the new wing prior to the full certification flight test. |
